hi,

i'm 6 months after removal of PEG and it seems like there is a second belly button.... a doc tells me that it is a simple proceedure to cut the skin, remove the 'hole', and stitch it be-gone. i'm not too vain, but would like to have it gone so that i'm not reminded of those days.

has anyone had this proceedure? recommend it or forget it?

thanks for your time and efforts,
cu,
larryb

Larry, as a woman of a, ahem, certain age, I don't plan on wearing a bikini ever again in this lifetime, so the extra indentation doesn't bother me at all, and frankly I object to any more surgery, however minor. That said, I think it is entirely up to you and if it bothers you, have it fixed! And be sure to come back and detail the procedure for us so anyone who is NOT of that certain age can know exactly what it involves.

Never heard of anyone doing this, but given all the simple plastic surgery cosmetic procedures that can be done, it, like the dr. said, it would be no big deal to do. Given all the scars on my old frame, (helicopter crashes, plane crashes, motorcycle mishaps, surgeries and more), I hardly think of this little pencil sized dot on my stomach. But even if I could have it removed, or for that matter any of the other scars on my body, I do not think that it's/their removal would reduce my memory of the battles

Hi Joanna and Brian,

thanks for info and advice. at this point, i plan to wait awhile to see how much it fades away. in a year, i'll consider it again.

i've had a large neck scar since a child when i cut myself on a toy.. so scars don't bother me much. this is probably more of a head thing related to cancer.

cheers,
larryb
