Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 280 | Just trying to be proactive for my husband. He's getting a CT today, we'll hear results on Thursday. There is a mass on the right ribcage/chest wall that wasn't there last month.
He thought perhaps he'd collapsed a lung or something, due to the pain on that side.
If it turns out this is another cancer growth, he's out of radiation options, and the chemo doc said he was basically out of ammunition.
All I could think of is trials.... is there something else we can try?
The doc didn't mention any other options for us.
CG to my husband, Matt. Dx June 2009 Stage IV Oropharengeal SCC right tonsil primary with distant metastases. Rad to neck- Surgeries to lungs- Every avail chemo - ran out of options Jan 2012, called for hospice help Feb 2012, at rest March 19, 2012.

April 2006: Husband dx by dentist with leukoplakia on tongue. Oral surgeon's biopsy 4/28/06: Moderate dysplasia; pathology report warned of possible "skip effect." ENT's excisional biopsy (got it all) 5/31/06: SCC in situ/small bit superficially invasive. Early detection saves lives.

Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 280 | Thanks Leslie... now if only I could decipher the lingo of these things!!! Will come with time I suppose and I'll be making a list of questions for the doc on Thurs.
I'll be looking into a local source for trial information.
Hoping that there is a local agency that can help us find something. Otherwise, I guess it's just me and a long list of phone numbers as I seek out the trials recruiting.
