What a difference a year makes! - 05-28-2010 09:03 AM
God is good.
My beloved husband,George,is one year post treatment and doing extremely well. He lost 50 pounds during the whole process and is actually happy with his new weight....just wouldn't recommend the weight loss plan.
Other than chicken, turkey and some breads, he can eat and drink everything as long as the pieces are small enough. His head sweats like crazy with anything remotely spicy - even pepper.
Last Saturday,he Captained our Relay for Life team named Geo's Army - benefits the American Cancer Society. Our team raised $5500 for the cause, the entire event over $80K. The person who spoke is an oral cancer survivor. She was only five months post treatment. She had her water bottle but she gave a kick ass speech to raise awareness for everyone there about oral cancer. We've come a long way and life will only continue to improve for the whole family. God is good.
