I am not sure if I should post this here or under Survivor Stories, but I am a writer and have been writing and publishing a lot about my cancer. One piece in particular that might be of interest to others on this site was published this past winter in The Massachusetts Review. I gave a reading two months ago and read this piece. It took a lot out of me because it is still very raw, what I went through. Writing is a kind of activism, I suppose, in terms of raising awareness and trying to help others take a walk in our shoes through the power of language.
Here is a link of the piece: Good Form

I hope you enjoy it.

I guess both. Writing helps some people, and spreads awareness. Nicely written.

An excellent piece of writing. You have captured the fears, the loneliness, and above all, the loss of control so very well. Thank you for sharing.
