My 25 year old son got married on Saturday; my younger son turns 20 today, and on Monday we got the results on Dan's 4 month post treatment PET/CT scan. At this time, no areas of concern!! I worry so much about the future at times, but from this last weekend, so much to be thankful about!! I am trying to learn to stay in the moment and just be so very thankful to God for what I have today...just wanted to share some happy times with friends!

Take care,
Debbie

Debbie, good on you and Dan!!!!

Times like this you can just relax a little bit, enjoy the present and be euphoric for a bit. You deserve it!

Debbie,

Congratulations to you and your family! As you know, the cancer experience so often delivers a string of bad news -- sometimes one right after the other -- so it's great when you reach a point where there's a string of really good news.

Debbie,

Great to hear when people can get beyond cancer and enjoythe normal moments of life!! My youngest was 7 when I was diagnosed and I have 3 more in their 20's. Being there to see milestones in their lives keeps me fighting! Enjoy the good times and take lots of pictures to remember the moments. I am thankful for every day that another good memory can be made. I'm saying a prayer and having a toast to you and Dan and your family that you'll have many, many more years of family memories!! - Kris

Debbie,

Congratulations to your son; Happy Birthday to your other son; HOORAH to Dan (and you, of course). Hmmm...sounds like your news traveled in 3's. Think about that for a while.

Praise God for all the blessings he has rained down on you and your family!

I almost forgot to mention, both boys are in Columbia since before Memorial Day with their birth mother. I sure miss them and I think of them every time I see a post from you. Don't stop posting, though, I can deal with it fine.
cool

Thanks Ed!
Interestingly enough, my husband had accepted a transfer in his job to Birmingham, Alabama just before his neck recurrance. They have been holding the job for him since Jan. 1...we are planning to be down there probably about the 2nd week of August, so I will be posting from another state. I will feel as you do though...both my boys will be in Columbia. It will be hard, but also I feel it will be good because it means we are moving forward with Dan's good results so far!
Take care and God bless,
Debbie

Debbie-

Congratulations on all the good news. I was just about to post a "good news" note today and read yours first...so if you don't mind I'm going to jump on your bandwagon. Tuesday we received the news that Don's 6-month post treatment CT scan was clear and that there were no signs of any residual cancer cells or tumors. YEAH! I know what you mean about worrying about everything and especially the results the the follow-up tests.

Life continues to bring on new and improved challenges but like you we are trying to take it one day at a time...and though Don wakes up to ringing in his ear (damaged from the radiation) and he will have to get a hearing aide (50%hearing loss from the treatments) we are very thankful that he is waking up. The medical oncologist brought this to full impact when he told us today that had Don not received treatment when he did the odds were that he would not be waking up at all today. We are truly blessed!

Like you, life continues on and Don & I shared the news about the clear CT scan with our daughter as she was celebrating her 21st birthday in Cabo. We are also thanking God that she felt comfortable enough with Don's recovery to be able to go out and enjoy life...and yes, CELEBRATE!

This entire ordeal has brought on new experiences...yes many very stressful...but like they say...anything that doesn't kill you makes you stronger...I'm telling you we must all be the strongest people around.

Again...congratulations on your news. I'm glad to see others are being blessed too.
