Hi All, After meeting with my surgeon he told me the team met to discuss my case. He said the amount of rad i will receive is 5000 rad. I have no idea if this is the max or a lower amount. Can anyone enlighten me on this. Dan

Hi Daniel, as far as I know, the maximum dose of radiation one receives at one time is around 7000 and that was what I got to treat my tonsil cancer. Since you already had your surgery, maybe your doctor would not give you the heavy dose.

I wouldn't worry about this. First, you are getting IMRT so you will be getting a lower dose than many people. Second, this information will serve no purpose to you, and there is nothing that you can do with it. Treatments are different for everyone, like patients who are individuals with different levels of disease and problems, who are treated by institutions and doctors with different protocols. You can
