Hi Everyone, New to this whole thing. My dad just got out of surgery for his mouth cancer. They are saying they found cancer in his lymph nodes and it is an aggressive cancer so we are now going to have to do Radiation and Chemo. I am starting to research about Radiation and have come across some different methods. One being IMRT (intensity Modulated Radiotherapy) as well as Radioimmunotherapy both which seem to lessen the damage to the salivary glands. I was wondering on any advise on what radiation treatment people have used

Heres a link to the main OCF site where theres page after page of info about treatments. One thing about the radioimmunotherapy... is it something that works on OC or is it a trial? At this time theres all kinds of breakthru's being discovered but as of right now the only way to eliminate OC is thru conventional treatment such as surgery and/or radiation with or without chemo. Chemo helps make the radiation more effective. By itself, it can shrink tumors but not completely eliminate them.
