There was an inspirational article in today's Washington Post by a Rheumatoid arthritis sufferer that seemed equally applicable to us oral cancer survivors. Here is the relevant excerpt
-- Learn about your illness. The success of your outcome is directly correlated to being the most effective patient possible.
-- Get over it. There is no lemon law for your body.
-- Minimize pain by using medications aggressively.
-- Think healthy: Take good care of your body.
-- Be in the moment: Do not live in the past nor dwell on the future.
The other 3 I found just as important
-- Do not hesitate to ask for help; it is not weakness.

-- Never lose hope; medical history is rewritten every day.

-- Surgery can have a positive impact.

Nice find. I just wrote to the author and asked it we could take all the points and use them on the OCF web site. I know we could rewrite them, but they are so succinct and appropriate for us, I really do not wish to change them.

This is just about how I have been fighting this. It works for me. We get no guarantees for anything except that one day we will die . They are going to have to drag me to my death when it's time.
