Posted By: cineamoc anyone successfully clear Oral HPV type 11? - 03-01-2018 07:24 AM
I just recently contacted Oral HPV type 11. Feeling extremely depressed. As I learn it could block my throat because of overgrowth, there is no cure except waiting for the body to fight it.

I understand that like genital HPV, oral HPV infection might clear within two years. There small chance it could persist. I just want to know if anyone with oral HPV successfully clear it within two years?

And what your experience during the infections?
Welcome to the Oral Cancer Foundation(OCF)! Our group is dedicated to helping oral cancer (OC)patients and caregivers with support and info. While a good number of our members who have had their oral cancer caused from HPV (usually its #16). I doubt you will have much luck asking questions of our members about their HPV situation. Our members are more focused on going thru treatments for their cancer, some fighting for their lives. Im sorry we are not able to assist you with answering your questions as we are not the right ones to ask. Our site is made up of OC patients/survivors and caregivers not people who have a medical background, years of schooling, or clinical patient experience.

There is still so much more unknown about HPV than is known. Even after many years of research, (OCF helps fund) there is more being discovered all the time. HPV is a STD that for the majority of people affected it does no damage to the body, it clears itself. As a non-medical professional, I dont know how long each strain can take to clear. Everyone is different and what works for one may not be the case with others who seem to be similar. HPV can lie dormant for many years, even for decades without it causing signs or symptoms to appear. Most HPV+ people will never know they have/had HPV as it causes them no ill effects. Most people can clear the HPV virus without it ever progressing into any serious illnesses. Without the availability of a reliable HPV test, its unlikely anyone here would know weather their HPV status has changed or when their body has cleared it. With HPV+ OC, the HPV can stay in the body for decades and never cause any ill effect. How other HPV strains act is something we would not have info about.

You can click on any of the blue, underlined HVP you see on posts to be taken to the main OCF site where you can read page after page of HPV info. Other than learning from the info on the main OCF site, you would be better off on a website dedicated to HPV, not oral cancer. Our HPV+ OC patients normally have number 16 (occasionally #18) that causes their cancer. From what Ive learned over the years about HPV, #11 is the main cause of genital warts which we do not have info about here. Without medical education or being a specialist in HPV, I have no info about oral HPV+#11. I do not have info about how serious HPV+#11 that mainly causes mostly genital warts can be as our site does not have info about unrelated things. We deal with cancer, specifically oral cancer. Im not even sure if info has been discovered yet on how easily HPV is passed from one person to another or what degree of casual contact spreads it. HPV is a STD that may or may not ever turn into anything serious for the person who has it. While I try my best to help everyone and I greatly dislike turning any of our members away, in your situation I must. You are not in the right place to learn about your illness or to get help. Below are a couple links that should give you all the info you need. One link is to our main site where there is a big HPV section and the other is to the CDC website where you can learn about HPV. I do not know how up to date any of the info is as new details are emerging all the time thru research. Hopefully on the links below you will find the info you are searching for. You need things that relate specifically to oral HPV+#11.

Good luck!!!
