Hello everyone. I'm a fourteen year old male and I'm known to be a hypochondriac but i'm very worried. I'm not a regular tobacco user but in the past I have used it before. Same with drinking. Now this is a bit of long story but here it goes. A few days before I noticed this bump on my gum I got a popcorn kernel stuck in a tooth. I eventually got it out and then a few days later I got a bump a tooth away from where I got the popcorn kernel stuck. I didn't think much of it until the bump started to hurt. At first I thought it was an ulcer so tried doing salt water rinses but that didn't seem to do anything so I ended up going to a urgent care. the doctor there didn't seem to worried and just said if it wasn't gone within two weeks then to go visit my family doctor. She also noticed another bump on the top lip. So time went by and the bump on the bottom of my mouth started not to hurt anymore but still didn't go away. The tooth where I got my popcorn kernel stuck started to hurt. So I went to the dentist and they ended up removing the tooth and when I asked them about the mouth bumps he really had no idea what they were and couldn't really see them. So I had a physical the following Wednesday and I asked my family doctor the same question on what it was. He had no idea either and couldn't seem to see them either. Now the bump on the bottom of my mouth is hard but moveable. It is very hard to see and it has a white head to it. Near the cheek area I also have a bunch of flesh colored small bumps. The one on the top of my mouth is soft. The bumps have not changed in size from what I can tell. And they have been around since June 23rd. These bumps are making me worried sick because every time I will type on google my symptoms and you always get results of cancer. What would be the next step to figuring out what this is? Any help would be appreciated.

I know you are worried, but it could be any number of things going on. First, please go to your parents and tell them everything you have written here, all of it. Second, avoid all tobacco products! If you dont start you wont have to go thru the withdraw later of trying to quit. Ive lost half my lower jaw because I was foolish enough to smoke and had the "it wont happen to me" mindset. By avoiding tobacco and alcohol, it will give your mouth a chance to heal. Lastly, do yourself a favor and avoid Dr Google. If you type enough info even a hangnail can show up looking like a deadly disease.

Hope its nothing serious!

PS... If you havent already had the Guardisil series of three vaccines, get them. By doing this you could be immune from ever developing HPV+ oral cancer and several others too.

Stop the tobacco now and forever.

As Christine says clue your parents into this equation.
