I was brushing my teeth this morning and a pretty good sized piece of fleshy tissue showed up on my tongue and toothbrush. Now I am have having pain way in the back of my tongue where the flap would attached to my tongue, toward the back of my mouth. I am concerned as I am 4 years out and haven't had this problem before. It is like there is stringy flesh coming off of my tongue or flap. Could it be a new sore that I can't see? Should I be worried? Has any glosectomy/flap people out there experiance this?

Sounds odd. I would have it checked out. It's likely nothing. But better safe than sorry. It could just be dead flesh... I've never had that happen but someone else might have. Regardless - it can't hurt to have it checked out and it will put your mind at ease.

I guess it could be possible to have brushed off a small section of your flap without feeling it. Call your doc and get them to check you out thoroughly. Especially if you are now in pain, better to be safe.
