So yesterday I had a dip in and I took it out. Then today noticed two whitish colored bumps kind of on the tip of an extension on each sides of the bottom of my tongue that are kind of near the vessels. I'm not sure if it's an early sign of cancer or just some other type of obscurity, but it has me worried and I really want some help before I go to a specialist and spend money for possibly expensive procedures. Can anyone help me please?

There are alot of different things that can be happening in your mouth. It could be an irritation or it could be something serious. Its not possible to tell whats going on over the computer. If you have a sore in your mouth that has been there for over 2 weeks then you should get it checked by a professional. An oral surgeon, dentist or ENT that are familiar with treating oral cancer patients is who you should go to. Oral cancer is not something you want to get. It is fast moving and deadly. Please do yourself a favor and get rid of the dip.

Although spit tobacco causes fewer cases of cancer than smoking tobacco, it can cause oral cancer. During my career I was fortunate enough to have diagnosed one patient with chewing tobacco caused cancer and was able to help save this patient's life. STOP DIPPING.

Whether you have cancer or not, you should go to this site and you will probably (hopefully) never dip again. www.outdoortexan.com.

I sure hope you don't have cancer and I sure hope you stop this disgusting and harmful habit.

Oh don't worry. I threw my can away on my way to the studio with my band this past Friday so trust me, no more dip for me. And the two bumps are seeming to go away now but there's still kind of a faded white spot where the sore spots were. Is this something I should get checked out?

I would keep an eye on them since not a whole lot of time has gone by since you noticed them and they seem to be getting better. If another week or so has gone by and you still see them it is then that I would go in to have them checked out. If it takes a while to get into the oral surgeon or dentist you can always make the appt now and can always cancel if it goes away.

Congrats on throwing away the chew! Not an easy thing to do but life will be better without the stress of this stuff.

Think of when you first discovered the sores. Anything that has been there for 2 weeks or more needs to be checked by a professional. Good job on throwing away the dip!
