Hello, all! My name is Gordon in Atlanta. Diagnosed 14Feb SCC right tonsil. Was to have small tumor removed 28Mar, but had grown enourmously! Now size of quail egg and hurting terribly. What luck to stumble onto this site and the first 3 posts I read at random were EXACTLY the same (well, VERY similar!) to my eperience. Being HIV+ I feel that plays a major role in my situaton, though. Been trying to research interactions w/chemo/HIV drugs. Any ideas where to look? God bless you all for helping each other! I hope to be around for quite a while and help out where I can, also.

Hello Gordon,
I can't help with the chemo questions (there are others that probably will) but I will answer any other questions that I can. What have you heard about treatment options from your Doctors?

Hello and welcome Gordon,

I can't answer your questions about chemo/HIV. You could try a search on the main pages of this site or a Google search using those key words.

There are many people in different situations that come here and maybe soneone will be along that can answer these questions.

We'll be here for support as you go through treatment.

Take care,
Dinah

Hi, Mark. I believe one of your posts was one of the first I read. I am to begin radiation 10Apr, with chemo to follow at some point soon. I have come across "radioimmunotherapy" where antibodies are radiated and attack only tumor cells, but having to go to the charity hospital here in Atl (Grady, but it's affiliated with Emory University), I don't think they'll have such "cutting edge" options to offer. I have also signed up for clinical trials with Emory, as they are always doing research. Will know more next week.
