Can any of you tell me the different between the Health Master and the vitamix blenders. We are looking for one for me so I can get more nutrients since I am still having pain and it is getting worse. My next appt, is not until April. I can drink juice or water, but anything thicker then that will not go down. If you have any ideas or suggestions let me know.

I know from personal experience that the Vitamix works just as advertised. I also heavily researched the Vitamix before sending in my money It seems pricey, but you would qualify for a medical discount. See my prior post for details
Vitamix Medical Discount Post
There are also 33 results when you enter Vitamix in the search box to the right but not a single one for "health master".
I've seen the infomercials on health master but thought they were bogus. Especially after as part of my research, I did a google search on "Vitamix vs Health Master" and nearly every review favored the Vitamix. Even Consumer Reports listed the Vitamix as the number one blender/liquidfier etc. but did not consider the Health Master even worth rating The specs are much different with the health master far far below every thing. Last but not least, Health Master is made in China while the Vitamix has been made in the USA the last 80 years. With the medical discount, I can't see any advantage to the Health Master. The reviews showed cheaply made metal parts thinner than the Vitamix, plus what the TV infomercials do not tell you is that only the basic version is the low price. By the time you upgrade the Health master to the same features as even the Vitamix 4500 (a step below the 5200 you get with the medical discount) it also costs $300.
Finally, no I do not get a rebate or even a penny from Vitamix. I was grateful for all the helpful posts on the G-tube and Blenderized diet groups at Yahoo and wanted to pass it forward here on OCF. If the $300 is too steep, and you do not need the perfect consitency that I need for my feeding tube (I vitamix take out chinese, full cooked home meals, everything with zero problems) those groups also report good luck with these Consumer Report "best buys"

Oster Counterforms BVLBO7-L
Price: $80

CU Best Buy
Braun PowerMax MX2050

Seriously, the Health Master appears to be another infomercial scam.

Thanks for that report. I do need it for me PEG tube because I am still not eating by mouth, have tried, but most thing will not go down because they are too thick or they burn my throat going down. UGH I have manily tried soft foods like mashed potatoes, pudding, and jello. Jello is about the only thing that will go down easily. Everything else burns my throat terribly or just sits at the top of my esophagus and will not go anywhere.

I used to sell the VitaMix as a commercial blender. No complaints. In my situation I am using a braun hand held blender for smoothies. I also bought a commercial juicer for
300$. Not a TV juicer but an Omega 8005 juicer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r437hboI_U

This machine will juice wheatgrass as well as almost anything else you put in it.

I plan to feed the juicer and the blender from my garden - first time gardener here. smile

Thanks for sharing your experience with the Vitamix from a former sales perspective. I had worried that even with the Vitamix medical discount available to oral cancer patients, the $300 price tag (discounted from $500) was too steep so it was very reassuring to see that you had to pay at least that for a decent juicer. I liked your subtle implied critique of "TV specials" Unfortunately, I can't "drink" smoothies and even those are too thick to go down my G tube so I had about given up until the Vitamix.
Good luck in the garden. It is so nice to have real food again through my G tube - last night was Chicken breast and green beans with a side of sweet potatoes. Funny though every meal turns the same shade of green except when we add beets. Again, good health to you as you escape the maltodextrin and corn syrup ghetto that the medical profession would consign us to.
