Hi,

My mom had a stage 2 oral cancer at the back of the tongue, she had 45 odd sittings of IMRT with 2/3 chemo sessions. It's almost a year now, she's doing very, very well, the node has almost disappeared, and she's back to normal almost entirely, except she's only at about 80 percent of what she's used to be stamina-wise, and she's having taste issues with her tonuge. She's had a sinus problem for years, it disappeared for the last couple of years and has made a reappearance recently. Could this interfere with the tongue healing at all?

Would appreciate any responses.

Thanks,
Ashwin.

Hi Ashwin. I do not know the answer to your question about the healing, sorry. I have experienced a drastic improvement in my sinusitis that has hassled me since I was in my late teens following treatment. A side benefit from tx? lol Mine has not come back & I do not seem to get colds or much of any sickness. I think it may be due to the healthy diet now versus then. I really try & have as much fresh fruits & veggies as possible & do not eat as much beef because it's a bitch to swallow! I had small grilled t-bone yesterday & smothered it with fresh home made salsa & baked beans. My brother-in-law thought it looked real good the way I set it up & it was for sure, but it was outta nessecity so I could choke down the beef! Erik
