I'm having a few problems in my face now, eight months after surgery and six after RT. I'll contact one of the nurses on Monday but put some feelers out here first.

The pain is mainly felt in my ear but the jaw in front of it is tender to touch and I get some relief if I move my jaw around a bit. It's deep, sharp pain that will barely respond to strong painkillers but will go away completely if I do some vigorous gardening or housework. It seems to come on after I sit on a sofa watching TV or looking at my laptop. It also causes me a lot of pain if I dare try to read in bed. I assume it is to do with the alignment of my jaw when I'm in certain positions but it's hard not being able to sit or lounge around anymore.

Alpaca

Same thing with my mother. As long as she is moving around the pain is not as bad . For some reason when my mom sits in her recliner or rest in her bed some swelling sets in and that's when the pain gets worst. The doctor said it could be lymphedema. There are massages to the face that seem to help the fluid move and it relieves some of the pain.

Maybe you should request a CT or MRI scan to see what going on to be sure.

Good Luck
