I have a reoccurance mets to lymph nodes (SCC), in lower neck and chest. Surgical dissection very extensive and extremely difficult, really not an option. Tumor is wrapped around both the Carotid and subclavian arteries not to mention all the nerve bundles. Plus all this tissue has been radiated.
Today I was offered chemotherapy with drugs in clinical trials, Xeloda and oxyaliplatin. I don't have a clue who manufactures these drugs and that is unimportant anyway.
I begin my new chemotherapy next week.It should be an adventure.

Darrell,
I haven't heard much on these two drugs but I do know that clinical trials are a great thing and can be live saving at times. How are you feeling? Are the areas of recurrence painful or non symptomatic? I'm praying for you and have added you to our prayer list at church.
Love,
Minnie

Darrell- hope the new chemotherapy goes really well for you. Lots of good results and not too many nasty side effects. Thanks for keeping us posted on your treatment.

One of the reasons I opted not to have surgery was to maintain a quality of life for the time I have left here on the planet. No one but God knows the moment of our death so I could have days, months our years to hang around and annoy people.
If it is Gods will I will live, if not I will die, either way it is a win/win situation because of my faith in God.
