We just learned that our 9 yr old grandson will be having an appendectomy tonight. The Sabbath starts in a few min so we wont know anything until tomorrow. My son is home with the 4 yr old boy and 12 yr old girl. His wife and her mother will be in the hospital. It is about an hour from their home, a little further for us. We will go to his place so our son can walk to see them tomorrow afternoon.
Life here has been crazy for the past month. In the middle of getting ready for Passover, I had a problem mammogram and now will begin radiation for breast cancer(DCIS) Thursday. Thank G-d it was caught early - stage 0 - the lymph npodes were clear and it seems that all was removed. The few weeks of radiation are SOP for this.
In addition, we have been preparing for a dinner for my grandaughter's Bat Mitzvah this Sunday PM. Everything has been purchased except the ice, the food will be delivered Sun and we just have to set up. It is not a large group - abouth 60 women and girls., so my graqndughter I can do it and if her other bubby and her mother cant be there we will just take a little more time.

Oh Malka what a crazy tough time for you and your family. I will pray for healing for your grandson and for you and for peace for all the family through this time and for happiness and celebration at the Bat Mitzvah on Sunday.

Man you've got a full plate to deal with. Hang tough and I'm sure you will find a way to get past all this stuff.

Malka, My thoughts are with you. You have been through so much already and have the attitude of a true survivor. Enjoy the Bat Mitzvah. My experience with breast cancer radiation was it was a piece of cake after battling through the oral cancer treatment. The only symptom I had from it was fatigue but even that did not hit right away. I'm so glad the breast cancer was caught early.

Thanks all,
The surgery was done last night via laproscope and he is now home. I walked over and brought the other 2 here for the day and they are now at Walmart with my huband buying get well gifts for their brother.
Neli, It does seem like the bc treatment will indeed be very mild, particularly compared to that for OC. I start radiation Thursday and the RO told me that I should not have any major problems. She also told me that I have been very fortunate to have been treated by all the best doctors here for the various problems I have had and, as I well know, everything has been caught very early.

You have to be due for a break Malka. Life just seems to be too tough at times, but we know how tough you are and will make it big time.

Malka,

So sorry to hear about the breast cancer. Thankfully, it was caught so early. I hope the radiation does prove easy for you.

I hope your grandson is feeling OK after his appendectomy.

Mazel Tov on your grandaughter's Bat Mitzvah and I hope that the dinner went well.

MALKA,
I am so sorry to hear your news. You were always so positive when we talked on the phone! You really inspired me with your wisdom and grace, and I know you will prevail here.
I have tried several times to pm you but it will not submit. It just won't do anything. Does that mean your box is full? I don't know but I wanted you to know that I think of you so much. I will talk to you soon, I hope.
May you have peace,
Debbie

Debbie,

I don't know why the messages didn't go through. We are finding many things out of place around the house and there have been some odd changes to my computer. We have a very curious 4 year old investigator so anything wrong or missing is blamed on him. I appreciate your concern and will try to give you a call soon.

That's right, always blame it on the guy!!
Posted By: peace4uall Re: Please pray - 05-20-2008 11:12 PM
Oh Malka,
Please call me, because I may have misplaced your number. The weekends are best because I have to get to work so early in AM must get to sleep early in PM. (Sleep is one thing I have learned not to
cut corners on). I had no idea everything was going on with you.
You are so strong though, I have never seen anything like it!
David,
Sounds like you have been blamed for stuff before!! It must be a "man thing". HA HA
Love to you all
Debbie

David,
If you met this grandson you would understand. I have two sons, several nephews and an older grandson but none this blameable. He inherited it from my brother, the crown prince darling baby brother to four sisters. Everything that ever went wrong or was broken in the house was his fault. When our oldest sister had her 50th wedding anniversary we all said the same thing - if anything goes wrong, it will be Sandy's fault.
Posted By: davidcpa Re: Please pray - 05-21-2008 12:33 PM
I'm sure Sandy has an explanation for everything. Probably mere coincidences.
Posted By: Malka Re: Please pray - 05-21-2008 03:47 PM
Explanations, maybe, but he usually was guilty. We girls did not take apart every watch, clock, lighter, pen, etc. and stuff the "spare parts" under the mattress. We did not go into the ice box (we still use that term here) and dig into the food. I wont even tell of the many times I covered up for his mischief.
OK, enough, lets close this thread.
