There is a Phase I trial here using real time Ct scans to modify the treatment based on anatomical changes and/or tumor size reduction. The SBRT is given in 5 fractions, a day off, 5 fractions, day off, etc. The cumulative dose is expected to be 4,500 Gy over a week and a half with expectations of minimal collateral damage.

For the first time, I really heard a radiation oncologist apologize for the damage we receive, too.

Sounds interesting. Unfortunately, much of the damage is not evident until much later. Two and a half years post radiation, a nerve in John's cheek and jaw is starting to give him tingling sensations.
