hi,

has anyone had botox injections?

after rad/chemo, 15 months of eating school,...
and a modified barium exame - it seems that the entrance to my eso-gus is tight. might get better as swelling continues to go away... or one doc suggests ballons and botox injections.

i welcome your comments and tales.
espically funny tales.

Larry,
I think that I could use some of those botox injections between my eyebrows to help remove the wrinkles caused by worrying if I will ever be able to swallow solid foods again. I go in on Thur. Jan 30th, for what was supposed to be a modified barium swallow, now changed to an appointment with the speech therapist. I plan to ask a lot of questions...although I have never had a problem with the PEG, this lack of improvement is trying my patience. I have to carefully plan all my activities around the feeding schedule...I want to be free!
I will pass on anything that I learn on Thur.

hi Danny,

hope your visit with the speach folks was productive.

i talked with mine about the botox and decided to put it off. being conservative about meds, i don't want to screw up was is working... my thinking is that the swelling is still receding and that i need to further strengthen the muscles that should be pumping food down into me eso-gas.
since that also is still improving,

i'm going to continue to eat and be merry. it's been awhile but things are improving so i'm going to stay with the flow.

if you hear of any cool tricks, let us know.
