I've sent Erik this list for the app of the most popular liquid drinks prescribed for PEGs and the two big OTC versions with their Calories Protein (g Fat(g) Carbohydrate (g) Water (ml) per can.
It dawned on me that it might be too NorthEast USA centric.
Please take a look at this list and post drinks or prescription nutrients that you used as a patient or caregiver. Don't worry about filling out the information on calories, etc, I can dig that up. Just the name is all I need if I am missing something used overseas or elsewhere in the USA

Two-Cal with fiber is 560 calories per can and is a popular prescription formula. How about checking on the Oley Foundation's list? They have tons of formulas listed.
Fortisip and fortisip multifibre. Seems to be the formula of choice here in NZ. Cheapest I guess. Those who can drink the formula but don't like the taste can get Ensure and Ensure plus on prescription.
OTC

Scandishake
After realizing the canned formula for my husband was synthethic food and a lot of sugar I tried adding fresh carrot juice and other fruits and veggies along with protein shakes and yogurt. (I used a good food processor and ran things through a strainer to make sure.) He had trouble maintaining weight even with over 2500 calories so I tried adding the more healthy calories. At first I was nervous I would clog the tube but we always got everything down it just took awhile longer at times. A nurse told us Coke would take care of any clogs but my husband found a chop stick fit great to give a little more push when needed. Thank goodness the feeding tube is now a thing of the pass but was much needed then especially since he did lose over 35 pounds. He never thought he'd be back at his college day weight.
Thanks Christine. I had seen TwoCal on the Abbott site but it was not under their Cancer nutrition section. But since we want the app to cover what people drink or put down their tube, I'll add it. sounds like you have drunk it.
I'll recheck the Oley site but like the Abbott site and many nutrition articles many of the ones I left out are designed specifically for the other diseases besides Oral cancer that put patients on a feeding tube. such as Celiac Disease, Diabetes , Gastrointestinal , HIV/AIDS ,Inherited Metabolic Disorders , Kidney Disease ,Osteoporosis and Wound Care
Which is why I left them out. Depending on the response to this thread, I will definitely include more.
Thanks for taking the time to read the list and help out

That is exactly the type of International information I was looking for. I will add them both

How could I have forgotten Scandishake? Oh yeah, i remember, I hated them - they made me vomit during radiation, so I subconsciously blocked them out. But they are popular and I will add them
thanks for helping out here.

I'm a big fan of Blenderized Diet and my Vitamix, so I agree.
I think a couple links to the BD sites/forums or at least a paragraph on the introduction/text part on BD as an alternative to the canned corn syrup will be good
Glad your husband is off the tube

Okay OCF readers. The above posts are a GREAT start. Even if it's not on the regular lists or prescribed for something else, if you or your patient DRANK it in lieu of food, please share.
We want the list to reflect what happens in the real world not just what is marketed.
So look over the list and chime in
Together we can make this the best list ever

Charm, recently I was able to get Ensure Enlive. Its the prescription version of Ensure Clear. My ins and nutritional provider (Walgreens in USA) provide me Ensure Plus and I wanted less dairy and they provided me Enlive.

Thank you. I will add both to the list

Okay, going once, going twice...
I want to get the list to ErikB for the Ipad app so if you used another prescription or OTC for your PEG or when you were on a liquid diet, please chime in.

Glucerna, it's OTC

Thank you for helping make the app info as comprehensive as we can.
