1) How do I shorten a long url when I've looked up something from OCF's search box so that I can refer a poster to it? It was mentioned on this forum some time ago but I lost it. frown

2) Also I've noticed that others in referring posters to additional info on OCF instead of posting the url will simply have a named link that goes to the info.
How do I do that?

3) Thank You! smile

Copy the link you want to show people then write your post. Next go back and "edit" it. Click on the picture of the link (second one below the smileys). When that comes up 'paste' your link. The next box will allow you to name your link. When you are done, hit 'submit'.

Christine answered question # 2. Here is the answer to question #1. It's a cool trick since otherwise the long long long URLs make the OCF post super wide and you'd have to move the scroll bar on the botton left and right to read it
Just go to Shorten long URLs . It's free to join and easy to follow the instructions.
