I have been treated successfully at the North Coast Cancer Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. I have been quite happy with the care I have received at North Coast both from the doctors and the support staff at the center. They are not a hospital, but an outpatient clinic, but the doctors are wonderful. My RO was trained at MD Anderson. This week the Cleveland Clinic acquired North Coast, keeping the doctors and staff intact. I wondered if anyone here has had experience with mergers of this kind or specifically with the Cleveland Clinic.

According to USNews, the Cleveland Clinic is one of the top hospitals in the country.

I know that, I do think that this is probably a good move, but I am just so comfortable with the "family" atmosphere at North Coast, so I am hoping that won't change. I have an appointment for a follow-up visit next week, so hopefully that will reassure me.

Went to North Coast today. My RO assured me that things would not change. The doctors, etc. will be the same.

I have been treated by Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Addelstein MO, Dr. Saxton RO (retired now) and dr Scharpf my head and neck surgeon, they are FANTASTIC and the care from all of the staff was super...I have to believe that this will be the case in sandusky also (oh BTW I live in Lorain)

Thanks, fellow Buckeyes! I have had a couple of visits to North Coast since the change, and everything seemed to be the same. My one oncologist also said that the merger would give the doctors at N. Coast another source for extra help if needed. Also saw my ENT in December, and he thought it would be fine, too. Actually, my husband went for a biopsy (benign, thank goodness) at Cleveland Clinic a couple of years ago, and was really well treated.

Pookie(that was my son's nickname his Godfather gave him lol)but Ron also had Dr Saxton for RO. Ron's ENT/Octolar...ist is Dr Burkey and reconstruction Dr Alam. Now he has Dr. Raymond for his biopsy surgery this Friday he's a new one. Dr Burkey I think is a wonderful, caring, great bedside manner Dr. You got a question, he stops and he answers you. I think he's been great for Ron and me too!
Don't fret any zen it will be a good move.
