They had a tough time getting it out. We thought it would be a "simple" procedure like everyone else seems to have but not so. They couldn't get the balloon to deflate so they had to numb his stomach and use an ultrasound guided Angio needle stuck in his stomach to deflate it. John was just wondering what it will eventually look like once it is totally healed. He has had no weeping or anything from it but he is worried that he will always have a hole there.

Yes, there will be a crust like scab that forms on hole ( raised above surface ). Mine sealed immediately and healed completely within a couple of weeks. Really have to look for the place to find it now ( I'm no ape but I do have a bit of fur on chest and stomach! ). Glad to hear he's on the road to recovery!!!

I havent heard of anyone going thru that before. I didnt have the balloon tip like he did. My doc just yanked and it hurt like heck. I couldnt even breathe it hurt so bad. After a couple minutes I sat up and immediately felt so much better with it gone.
Mine has been out for several months and its healed nicely with just a very small pink spot visible. Its about the size of a pencil eraser, but flat, it looks like the spot will completely dissappear in time.

It does look like 2 belly buttons at first. The spot will shrink as it heals.
