We would like to ask a few people to write letters in the next few days. Norman Brinker who was the head of Brinker International, that started Chilie's, Macaroni Grill, On the Boarder mexican restaurants, Maggiano's Italian restaurants, passed away this week for aspiration pneumonia after his oral cancer treatments. The company has a huge history of corporate financial giving to charities. We need people (not just the OCF office) to drop them a letter asking them to consider two things. Helping THE non profit that works exclusively in the battle against the disease that he fought, and two, potentially doing some cooperative public awareness programs with us that would spread oral cancer awareness while benefitting their bottom line. I hope you will chip in to help us reach out to them in these tough financial times for OCF. Please reply to this thread if you are willing to help us with this and I will email you the details on who to contact.

Thank you so very much!

since I posted Brinker's obituary here on OCF, I would be glad to help out also. Sounds like it will be an uphill battle though due to his close involvement with Susan G. Komen as ex husband to the founder as well as a board of director member and major fundraiser. Still, send out the info and we can try.

Thank you all very much for the enthusiastic responses! I sent everyone a private message with details on the donation request. I believe our voice will be louder if Brinker receives letters from multiple people connected to the foundation. We are trying to maintain a steady flow of donations to insure the longevity of OCF. As with everyone the economy is taking a toll on us too, so each little bit helps.

Please contact me if you have any questions. Your involvement with this is greatly appreciated.

Megan
