Thank you. I've been trying to remember what my speech therapist called that before I felt like I could respond.
It was about 16 months after treatment had ended when he mentioned that I still had some lymphedema. Under my chin was thick, hard, and enlarged. I had just thought it was permanent scar tissue left from surgery and/or radiation. It soon after that started to go away, maybe helped by the exercises my therapist had me doing. Anyway, I'm 2 years post Tx now and it's completely gone.

My head was very lopsided. It all went down then the radiation made me swell again. I am getting better every day since txs ended. It's such a slow process.

I had a virus a week ago and it got worse with that for a few days so I had to massage it out like crazy. Also, I had an allergic reaction to a medication and that made my neck swell up a little bit more than usual. I'm pretty sure I'll be dealing with it for quite some time!

He swells up on the jaw line as well. Sometimes he looks like a hamster. We asked the consultants in hopsital and they said it is just the lymph trying to find a new path after the other lumph nodes were removed. Sometimes the lymph styas stuck there. They have said they will send him for some special massages to stimulate the circulation of the lymph, but at the moment he is still too sore. Apparently it does sort itself out eventually, the lymph adapts and finds a new way to flow, it just needs a little help sometimes. I hope this helps a little?
