Hello. My husband was diagnosed 5.5 years ago with stage 4 tongue cancer. We went for treatment to Dr. Shah at Sloan Kettering. He had a radical neck dissection followed by radiation. He is now completely cancer free and doing great, except for some taste bud and dry mouth issues from the radiation. If anyone out there has a spouse or family member who gets this cancer, do the best you can to get him/her to one of the best cancer treatment facilities for this type of cancer like Sloan Kettering, because I am sure that will make all the difference.
I wish everyone the best!

Hi Katya,
After reading the great news in your post I went back to your first one in 2003.
It was interesting to read your fears then especially about the numbers and statistics. The replies to your post make interesting reading as well as we still see the same fears regarding the maths.
Thank you for the update and great report on your husband...hope to be 5.5 years and more myself in the future grin
