TREATMENT START: 8/9/07 cisplatin/taxol X 7..IMRT twice daily X 31.5.
TREATMENT END: 10/1/07
PEG OUT: 1/08
PORT OUT: 4/09
FOLLOWUP: Now only annual exams. ALL CLEAR!

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

BTW when you are using american abbreviations remember us poor old brits, i have a list written out of what CPA could stand for,but i am sure you are none of those!!!!!lol

It stand for Certified Public Accountant. Similar to the UK and Canadian Chartered Accountant. In the U.S. we have to first get a Masters with a concentration in Accounting and Tax and then have to pass a 3 day national examination. Some States also require a 2 year "internship" as well. Then there's the 40 hours of yearly CPE (Continuing Professional Education).
My wife though calls it "Constant Pain in the Ass". I bet that made your list as well.

I keep a monitor on in my office full time with 4 camera views of the restaurant. Obviously I can't stare at it all day but if I do see an employee doing something wrong including improper personal hygiene, I will call them up and correct them immediately. A statistic I learned many years ago and I use in every class taught is that 95% of ALL FOOD BORNE ILLNESSES IN A RESTAURANT COMES FROM UNCLEAN HANDS. Therefore my goal is to get all employees in the habit of washing their hands EVERYTIME they touch something different. I don't condone gloves as it too often gives an employee the feeling of immunity to bacteria. Talk about a full time job!

In Australia CPA stands for Certified Practising Accountant
History Leukoplakia bx 8/2006 SCC floor mouth T3N0M0- Verrucous Carcinoma.
14 hour 0p SCC-Right ND/excision/marginal mandibulectomy 9/2006, 4 teeth removed, flap from wrist, trach-ng 6 days- no chemo/rad.
6 ops and debulking (flap/tongue join) + bx's 2006-2012.
bx Jan 2012 Hyperkeratosis-Epithelial Dysplasia
24cm GIST tumour removed 8/2013. Indefinite Oral Chemo.
1/31/16 passed away peacefully surrounded by family

Exactly where during all of the studies to become a CPA, do you learn how to use an abacus?
BTW, I have no idea where I would be a tax time without my trusted CPAs. Unfortunately, dentistry is a business too and we don't learn any of that stuff in dental school.

Retired Dentist, 59 years old at diagnosis. SCC of the left lateral border of the tongue (Stage I). Partial glossectomy and 30 nodes removed, 4/6/05. Nodes all clear. No chemo no radiation 18 year survivor.
