Wasn't sure where to post this. I hope this is alright.
I want to thank all of you for helping me to get this far. I love the way you tell it like it is.
I went back to the cancer center today and took a full page of questions. They were very inpress that I was so informed. I told them I had found this great site that has helped me. I would never have know what to ask without you.,
The cancer is stage 1, I get to keep my teeth and the bridge. The location being the chin area they can block the teeth. I got fitted for a mask today. radation will start in about 3 weeks. they cannot do IMRT because of the location. I'm not going to get chemo Iv, but chemo another way, not sure how. I know its not going to be easy, But I feel so much better. they also put me in touch with the cancer society, I can get someone to drive me to my apointments when I get unable to drive. A wig, if I need it and they are going to help in so many ways. The Nurse+ thinks medcare will cover the ensure or what else I need. Everything is falling into place, takes a load off my mind.
Thanks again for your replys to my post, it helped so much, just what I needed at a very low point in my life.

Wilma:

Glad to hear that everything is falling into place for you. The American Cancer Society was a great help to me while I went thru treatments. I had a driver a few times and they helped me with the medication co-pays. Start lining up your friends and family to help you with different things.

Did they mention what type of radiation they plan to use?

they did tell me all about it, but I don't remember the name. he said they will put it under the chin, and it will be directed to the one location, Will know more about the lymp node in the neck after a pet scan on the 23rd. or 30th. them are the two days open. I may need radation on the neck. A lot of wait and see.
Wow you ride 120+ a week, We use to ride 5 miles, 3 or 4 times a week, that was the best I could do. Haven't done that in a few years.
