I am supposed to get that biopsy done in a little while today. I am kind of nervous more about it hurting then anything. Every stinking biopsy they have done on me so far has been an OUCH!!!! Anyway after today how long will it take before I should really expect the answer? When it was a yes they called me at work in about a week. when it was a no they made me wait till I went in for the answer. OK ok yes I am nervous. But I am in good hands. I am smiling hope you are too. Brenda

Brenda,

You got it, "Good luck".

The answer to your questions is that it depends on how quickly the biopsy is processed and forwarded to the surgeon. Some labs use fax and some use mail. Also every doctor has their own protocol as far as how and when they tell the patient. It is never quick enough for the patient.

I was lucky as my biopsy came to my office on the Tuesday following the Friday that it was done. Since it came directly to my office, I obviously had the advantage of not having to wait for the surgeon to tell me.

I was supposed to get that done today. Again I was fooled. I was sent to a new ENT. He did a scope and said there was absolutly no cancer in my throat or mouth. That know we feel he said feels like a result of the radiation. So he talked me into getting the scan and then we are going to have surgey to remove the salitary gland that is destroyed (spell check) The jist it LOOKS like to me is I am cancer free. He did say he was going to biopsy the gland when he removed it. Gave me some meds and since I am at the busiest time of the year at work I need to be there so surgery will have to wait until I get back from Washington in June. I feel blessed. Thank you all for caring and yelling your prayers I will continue yelling mine. Brenda

I am now on day five of the predtnizone?? steroid out of a 12 day pack, OMG I can sing! Not good mind you but I can carry on a conversation without gasping for a breath. I don't remember who it was that posted there are ENTs who go to school to learn to treat sore throats and ENTs that went to school to learn to take care of surgery ( not a quote but close) but they were so right. I feel so much better, and the depression is lifting off my shoulders. I was talking to my boss at work she Grabbed my hands and she prayed loudly so the Lord would hear her words and that I would hear them and believe they were good. Next she paid the ENT to see me, Thank you Mrs.Louise Womack! God smiles on you too! When I told her what the Ent said she shouted and high fived me! this woman is amazing. Love her like my mom. She is also a Cancer survivor she had a breast removed so she understands the fear we go through everyday. And I told her and yes I show her everyday by going to work mostly on time and staying the whole day. Remember I work outside in the cold and the heat. We are at our busiest time of the year so every one is needed to be there. Opps sorry I am rambling I am just so relieved. Hope all our news turns out like mine did this time.
You might not see me here for a couple of months but that is because I have 10 hour work days then in June I think I am flying to Bremerton Washington to see my Daughter and her family. I wish all of you happy HAPPY days! Prayers for all. Again I am sorry for rambling I do that! Brenda
