Hi Paula,

Please don't feel guilty...fighting this disease is trying on everyone involved, your husband and you. I've no doubt you are doing everything you can but even the best of us feels stress and our physical limitations.

By all means vent here, there are many here that understand. I personally have nothing but admiration for the way you stand by your husband and chose to do so.

Hi Paula,
Sorry for all you are going through.
We used aquaphor ointment and had an rx for minicyclene for mom's rash. The skin is like onion skin and tears so easily and was very painful.
Do you have a supermarket nearby that can deliver your groceries? At least the drinks? I don't have any real back issues but it always aches after lugging everything in and out and then to put it away. Maybe a neighbor child can help you?
I agree with Suess57, I admire you for standing by the man you love. I can't imagine why some people say some of the hurtful things they do, maybe they just don't realize it? you wouldn't believe some of the comments I've heard...nothing like yours but offensive at times all the same.
You are in my thoughts,
Donna

Paula,

We all wish we could send strength to those on the board that so sorely need it. It is good that you have us to "talk" to.

When you get a chance, please consider updating your signature to include the recent info on your hubby...helps us all respond more appropriately.

Thanks so much for all of your support - what a great idea about the groceries being delivered! I used to be able to think of things like that, but not now...my mind is too stressed. Thank you so much, Donna for the suggestion! I will try that...I'm in a new neighborhood, but all the neighbors are very, very old...but I can find a store to deliver our groceries...Jim won't like it too much as I'm sure it's more pricy than running to Sam's or Costco, but at this point, who cares? Not me and my back will certainly thank me:-)

Deb - I'll try to update my signature line, if I can remember how...that's always been a little issue for me since the beginning.

Thank God for this sight!!!!! I love having cyber friends - what a great place to come together..

Jim had his 2nd treatment today and we have the cream for his rash and also tetracycline for infection....I expect he'll be very tired tomorrow, but I am replinished after reading all of the good will gestures and suggestions.

Paula- The extra cost of having your groceries delivered shouldn't be too bad. Most stores only charge a few cents per bag. I haven't tried it yet but wouln't hesitate if need be. I actually like food shopping so it's something I look forward to-strange I know. My husband was tired the day after the Erbitux also. Not as bad as after chemo but noticeably weak. Hang in there.

Ok Sue,
I'll come take care of your hubby if you will go grocery shopping for me. For some reason, I hate it. I really try to stop when I am shopping and miserable and say a little prayer of thanks that I can simply walk into the grocery store and get what I need and pay for it. I should be very grateful but I am not and need to have an attitude change. I literally would much rather stay home and clean house (including toilets) than go to the grocery store. Hubby does it for me a lot.

Paula..looks like you got the siggie line changed...thanks..I am amazed how much I look at them when reading posts.

Deb-
I will for sure do your shopping if you will clean my toilets! Did I forget to mention that I have three teenagers?

Deb,

I wish my wife hated shopping. That's all I got to say.

David,

I didn't say I hated shopping, I said I hated grocery shopping!
I don't consider buying groceries as shopping. Clothes, furniture, home decor...now that is shopping! grin

Sue, I don't mind cleaning after three teenagers...just don't make me deal with them otherwise. My three boys are grown and have families of their own..I've had my fill of that experience and very happy to be on this side of it..God love em...it was hard!

Y'all are a hoot! Well, I'm glad to see others that don't like grocery shopping - I don't like any kind of shopping...grocery, clothes, home stuff...I like to stay home, I do a lot of cleaning, a little reading, not much into t.v., unless it's Dave Ramsey...I'm into "no brainer" and "no decisions" after a hard days work! I've raised my 2 girls and they aren't coming around at all...I love 'em and respect the fact that they are turning into women that need to make decisions for themselves...my motto has always been...."those that can't hear, must feel".

What a great laugh I had reading this tonight...thank you:-)

David - can I send your wife my Christmas money and have her do my shopping for me???
