Especially since this lump doesn't seem to be behaving like a tumor. And being able to enjoy somehting special with your daughter is really important. But that's just my humble opinion.

If you feel comfortable with your docs, don't hesitate to have this holiday with your child.
I know it is a shallow sentiment, but, you need to enjoy this event to the upmost. None of us know what may happen.

I get bumps and sores in my mouth all the time since its so sensitive from treatments. I also have had a horrible year from my cancer my sister had breast cancer and my mom just had a tumer removed from her lungs. I had a bump by my tongue and it went away. I think that your mouth is just real sensitive right now. I would not worry about it. Actually knowing me I would but I don't think that its anything to worry about it. | | |

I had my tumor removed one year ago today...wow. It really does feel like yesterday. I had a great time with my daughter today, went to her school for their paper mask parade (they were so creative) and trick or treating with her tonight and I'm pooped.
Anyhow, I made it back into see my ent on Monday morning. He agreed that the bump on my palate was not as prominent as before and swelling gone. He wants to give it a month to see if it goes away. If it doesn't we will biopsy. Ofcourse, if it swells again or grows bigger he wants me in right away. Im praying it goes away and I was stressing myself out over nothing. It's still a worry, but Im feeling much more relaxed for the moment.
My mom got tatooed for the beginning of her radiation tx's for breast cancer today. Id really like to believe that after she is done, we won't be dealing with the c word again. I know, maybe too much to ask for.... cystic fibrosis, and cancer.....yuck. I hate the c word.
Thank you to all who replied to me. It is nice to be able to have a place to vent and have someone that can share similar experiences, even though they arn't pleasant ones, ones that you can relate to.
Happy Trick or Treat day, Laura

I had a checkup with my ENT 2 days ago and he was a little worried by a sore that has developed on top of some scar tissue in my cheek. It's next to where I have a missing tooth and for some reason because there was no tooth there, I have had massive scar tissue in the cheek there--and my cheeks have gotten tighter and rub against my teeth in general (especially since I sleep on that side) but there (because no bottom tooth and more tightness from scar tissue) the upper tooth seems to really irritate the cheek tissue sometimes--to the point where it bled when he pressed it. He is pretty sure that's all that is worng there--and gave me some of his swish and swallow mouthwach which should bring down the inflammation and irritation--but I have to come back in a month for him to see if it's gotten better.
So I am trying not to worry now. These things are hard to not worry about, even if there's more of a chance they aren't cancer than they are!
