Jack Klugman, who has been a strong supporter of the foundation, and who last year filmed a TV public service announcement for us which received over 28 million viewer impressions in TV markets all over the US, has recently published a book about his time with Tony Randall. Tony starred with Jack in the Odd Couple both on TV and in the live theater production. Jack has frequently told me that Tony was the one who lit a fire under him to work on getting his voice back (Jack did not talk for almost 4 years after his cancer surgery) by telling him that he damn well better get rid of the chalk board and learn to speak again since he had booked them both into a Broadway run of the Odd Couple in less than a year. While only part of the book deals with Jack's travels through his cancer experience, it is a great read. He has generously given us 10 signed copies to sell to raise money for OCF. They are $24.50 apiece, plus $4.00 shipping in the US. For those of you thinking about donating to the foundation, here is a way to get a piece of entertainment history signed by Jack for your donation. There are only 10 signed copies. I would appreciate your support in helping the man who helped us generously with the donation of his time, and the use of his name and celebrity to raise the awareness of oral cancer and its risk factors. After these are gone, you will still be able to buy the book at www.tonyandme.com (Please tell them that OCF sent you) One of the funny parts of this is that it includes a DVD of outtakes of the two of them from the TV series that are a crack up. Some of the recent reviews are:

Since we are not going to spend the money to put this in the store for only 10 copies, please make a donation to the foundation or send a check to the foundation, and I'll see that it gets sent out to you. Please send me an email telling me what's what and I'll know to set one aside and be looking for the payment. Don't forget to email me your comlete mailing address.

Wow...4 hours and half the books are gone. 5 left that are signed by Jack. For those who buy the books, I will send you Jack's mailing address if you would like to thank him for providing them to us and any other comments you'd like to make to him.

Brian,
Save one for me. I have to fill out the paperwork for the matching donation and mail it to you so it may be a day or two before you get my check.

Take care,
Eileen

I received the book yesterday and finished reading it this am. I totally loved it! It made me laugh and cry. Written beautifully about the importance and value of friendship.
Brian, please send me Jack's address. Thanks so much! Carol

All the signed Klugman books we were given by Jack to raise money for OCF, have been purchased. If you have not received one at this time, even though you requested one, they were sent out in the order that they were requested, and there were not enough to go around. If you wish to support Jack and get the book, please purchase through the link in the original post, and tell them you were sent to them by OCF. There is a chance that they have some signed books there, and if that is important to you, just ask them. On another note, I have lunch with Jack at least once a month, and I could ask him (we would have to buy them this time around) for him to sign some for us while I was there. If someone does not get a yes for a signed copy from his web site (in Oregon), you can email me and I will see what I can do next time he and I meet.

Brian,

Although I haven't had the time to read the book, yet, I have skimmed through it and it looks great.

I dropped a note in the mail to Jack yesterday thanking him for all that he has done for us and others.

Thanks.

Jerry

Hi Brian,

I would like to purchase this book through this foundation. If you could be so kind as to have Jack sign it at your next luncheon that would be appreciated. My check is in the mail for the book and all expenses associated.
Thanks for all your help and support.
