Gotcha,

We didn't evedn tell my family about the problemn until I was in remission. Boy, were they pissed, but we felt it best. The last thing my wife needed was some of my relatives coming to "help"

Steve

SCC, base of tongue, 2 lymph nodes, stage 3/4. 35 X's IMRT radiation, chemo: Cisplatin x 2, 5FU x2, & Taxol x2. Hooray, after 3 years I'm in still in remission.

Dear Guila, How much help you get very much depends on who the family is and what physical shape and mental frame of mind they are in. Amy

Not everyone's family is helpful and that's worse than having no help at all because it drains energy when you have none to spare. Hang in there Amy, eventually they will go home. Regards JoAnne

My heart goes out to you Amy. I have been reading your posts and know you are going through a LOT to say the least. You are one amazing caregiver, wife, and woman. I admire you so much. Although you don't know me, I have been keeping you and John in my prayers on a daily basis. Hang in there Amy. I wish I lived closer to you because I would be there to help out in a second.

Hugs,

Shelley

Dear Gulia, please accept my apology for a hasty response to your July 6th post. I was not in a very good frame of mind right then. I realized later that your post sounds like you need some help. Can you share more about your situation? Maybe some of us can offer some hints or possible solutions to ease your burden. I know we would like to try anyway smile
Thank you JoAnne and Shelley. One day at a time. Amy

Dear Amy,

I am usually not a blog reader, but was drawn to yours this morning during one of my "wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall back to sleep events". What else do I do, but go to the forum.

You sure are one strong lady! My respect and admiration for caregivers and you especially, has grown tremendously tonight. They say that people draw strength from depths they do not know they have and you surely are one of those people.

Although I will be away for 2 weeks starting Monday, please know that I will be thinking of you and John during my vacation and praying that John's situation turns around that you have some good news posted when I return.

Jerry
