Congratulations on getting out of the hospital, (yet again), and showing us all what a tough son-of-a-gun you really are!!! We're glad to have you back, and look forward to hearing your account of this latest adventure in the world of medicine. You are an inspiration to us all.

Hi , So glad to see you back.As you can see by the posts we were all worried about you.You are alucky man to have a woman like Dee who loves you like she does, we can all see she feels lucky to have you. Brian is right, you are an inspiration to us all. I figure if you can keep doing this crap , so can I. After you have been in the hospital that long the world seems full of color doesn't it? After my Dec.5 surgery they said 2 weeks(if all goes well).I saved all the tablets I wrote in and a long time later I read them.Boy I was a mess.I already have a stack of new tablets ready for the new adventure.Enjoy home Packer 66!gnelson laugh

Dee here, first, thanks everyone for prayers and best wishes........but, in his usual fashion, he just happened to mention, he has 10 hrs of surgery and 10 days in hospital after the holidays to repair giant hole in his face, actually, he looks like someone started to dissect him and decided to quit for lunch........I mean, looks like somesome just took a quarter of his face off.............takes unbelievable amount of packing..........scared our neighbor when she saw it..........anyhow, Dee is not happy with 10 more hours and 10 more days............I know it needs to be reconstructed, but I was thinking a little less time............silly me..........so the long winding road continues......Prayers to Us All

Hi, I think Packer just likes to out do me,My Doctor said as he was going out the door, you do realize you chin is going to cave in , and be that way for three weeks until we put the new bar in. No I had not, been busy thinking of pain. Then he sends Patty in.My ENT is the "big cheese" at the cracker factory and he has other doctors under him.Patty is the only female in the dept. of 8 ENTS and tons of residents. She was on my case at the first operation and worked on the other wing on the others, but she stayed with me whenever I come in because I requested her, When I get FEMALE depressed Patty handles it.She is great! Every ENT staff should have a woman ENT.Even though my chin is a mess , I wear makeup, get my hair done and try to keep myself like I always did.Back to Patty, one nite in the hospital when my tongue was actually pulled out hanging to the side among other ugly stuff she came in to check on a patient and brought he 8 year old son in to visit me, that blessed child never even looked at anything but my eyes and we wrote notes back and forth, sometimes it takes more than medicine to heal a person. gnelson

GNelson........."it takes more than medicine to heal a person" Boy, you hit the nail on the head with that sentence. Dont think there is a one of us that could have survived without the constant and unconditional love that surrounded us during our time of crisis. I am quite sure that is what pulled me through on more than one occasion; love of family, love of friends.

gnelson, thanks for keeping us posted on your progress. I'm so sorry you have to endure more surgery but I'm sure the end result will be worth it! I admire both your courage and your strength. Continue to get well! Sincerely, Donna

gnelson.........beleive me I`m not trying to out do you....my new chin, I can`t even find it...I think on a scale of 1 to 10....your woes are a 10 and I`m about 9 and a half................I agree with the need for the support of family and friends, our neighbors little girl visits regularly, and never bats an eyelash at my looks............even observed wound care............I guess we`re all just hanging in there............Prayers to All
