A message I get from Russ's passing is that life can be very delicate and full of uncertainty. We should therefore treasure every minute we have, treasure all that we possess especially our relationship with family and friends. My condolence to Russ and family.

Russ leaving us was a combination of a long battle with HIV and cancer at the same time. There were questions from the beginning regarding an aggressive cancer treatment combined with his therapies for HIV in his mind. From his posts we only got to know him for a short period, from his emails I can tell you he was a thoughtful, and caring man, with an eye to a better future in spite of all he was going through. The world is an emptier place for the loss of a wonderful human being like him. He was a person of strong religious faith, and surley that comforted him at the end. He will be missed.

A really tough period going on for the OCF community. I did not have the pleasure of knowing Russ but am touched that the folks here felt so connected to him in such a short time. If this is the case for those of us at OCF who knew him, I am guessing he felt the reciprocal support of those who befriended him here.It never ceases to amaze me how powerful the impact is of this place.
