Hi Dinah,
You were one of the first ones to welcome me to this forum. I'm sorry you and your family are going through this. You will handle this with a courage and strength that most of us don't have. I'm so sad for you Dinah and will think of you and your family.
Love,
Minnie

Dear, dear Dinah,

I doubt I will attempt a phone call because I don't think I could get past the tears enough to talk. So I will try to tell you here how much I love and admire you. More than once, you gave me the strength to go on when dealing with Heather's cancer. Even while dealing with your own cancer demons, you reached out to help others.

Words just can't describe the strength and hope you have projected to the members of OCF. You have set an example that few will be able to match, but I'm sure many will aspire to do so.

I, too, have been worried about you lately, especially when you didn't reply to my e-mail. I knew something was wrong, but it is still devastating for it to be confirmed. I am so very sorry. I wish you and your family strength in the days ahead.

Rosie

Dinah was third person ever to respond to my first cry for help when I arrived here almost 2 years ago. She helped in immeasurable ways to calm my fears and guide me through the terror of cancer and it's treatment. Since I first read Brian's post I have unable to reply publicly. I am just stunned. This is the kind of news that no one wants to hear. Although we all knew of Dinah's fight and setbacks none of us wanted to believe that there would be anything less than a miraculous cure or a complete response to treatment, especially for a person who has been such a saint (or inspiration) to the rest of us. I think most of us see ourselves in Dinah's shoes and this latest news gives us one more ugly and terrifying reality to ponder. Dinah has been a torch bearer on how to fight this disease with grace and dignity and I am saddened beyond comprehension.

Dinah-
Hard to see through the tears to write. We all know that we too can be at your stage of the fight, just a matter of time for some of us. Wish you could have the energy to still make it to Las Vegas but know that we'll be there sending you a big group hug and many prayers! You have touched many lives through this forum and we all care for you very much. Will pray for peace and comfort for the rest of your journey for you and your family. Much love - Kris

Dinah has deeply impressed me as a very courageous woman in her life battle. Knowing that cancer that has mets to liver is really very difficult to cope with, I always wonder why Dinah has always been the one here welcoming and supporting others as if she herself were in remission while actually she was facing tremendous hardships. I asked her about this in our emails and her reply made me feel ashamed of myself. She told me her objective here was to give support and encouragement and to share what she knew rather than scaring others with her own sufferings. If we view her previous posts, we can only know very little about the progress of her illness. Instead we only see how she tried to support others with her positive and encouraging words. Dinah, you are indeed my role model and my constant thoughts go to you and your family.

Karen.

Karen stage 4B (T3N3M0)tonsil cancer diagnosed in 9/2001.Concurrent chemo-radiation treatment ( XRT x 48 /Cisplatin x 4) ended in 12/01. Have been in remission ever since.

Dinah and family, times like this cause me to reflect on the only thing we are able to count on, which is the love between people. I hope you are able to feel that love from me and the others here.

I know of many good and thoughtful things you have done and I am certain that I know only a fraction of the total. May you find peace and comfort in this part of your journey.

Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.

May the strengh you have shown help you along the next part of your journey, I thank you for your insights of how to really live, to make the world a richer and special place and to value all that we have, and not to crave for what is past.
Prayers.. love and hugs
Helen
