They make the big bucks doing the reading because it is so highly specialized. I have worked in the radiological field for over 30 years and I still can't read them.

So that was good news but of course since they couldn't get the contrast in me I'm wondering how good of an exam it was. lol But anyway, good news so far. If I didnt seem to have a swollen lymph node, along with ear and throat discomfort I'd just forget about it. Anyone here have any good suggesions for me to do that would more than likely once and for all rule out cancer? Thanks for your time and sorry if I turn out to have just been a stuoid worry wart. .....no more smoking...... lol

They are scans that are often used in conjunction with CT scans. I don't understand why they couldn't get the needle in. Generally, if one nurse can't accomplish the feat, then another will. You might also go to a different facility and try the CT scan with contrast again and mention the difficulty you had the first time.
Glad to hear the test showed no problem, though. That is a very good sign. Perhaps you've dodged the bullet this time. Stopping smoking is a good first step to try to ensure it doesn't come back to haunt you.

Perhaps the node wasn't considered large enough or maybe its something else? Maybe they didn't see it due to lack of contrast? The nunrse did mark it however and the mark shows up on the ct scan. Just wondering and thanks again!
