I bite my inside lip a lot and I noticed an area that was a lump on the bottom of my mouth. On the other side of it there is this sore thing that doesnt hurt at all but it hasnt gone away for over a yr now. Sometimes its white sometimes its red but it does have puss in it sometimes. I use to smoke for about 4yrs I quit 2 yrs ago. Im really worried this could be serious. I would like some input before I consult my doctor. By the way I'm 21 yr old Asian male. | | |

While you may not have a cancer, you have a chronic condition which obviously needs treatment. Your young age, combined with a very short smoking history are good things in your favor, since statistically they take you out of the primary candidates for oral cancers. Visit an ENT or your dentist SOON and have them take a look. You obviously have some long-term problem that they no doubt will be able to clear up for you. While it is not impossible for you to have oral cancer, it is rather unlikely.
