I hope this question isn't rather offensive.

The past 9 months I've noticed a few lumps in my neck and swelling of the lymp nodes, the doctor did a ultrasound on my neck said I had swollen lype nodes and something odd, however didn't get any bigger so he didn't mess with it. I have pee like sized round nods on my tongue and back of my throat inside of it. I haven't gone back to the doctors. He did also say something about the glad being twice the size (the glad under the right side of the jaw) I was on antibiotics hoping it would clear up. Never did.

My dad was disengaged with carcinoma Throat cancer yesterday after having the exact same issues with lumps in the back of his throat but he only noticed his lumps 2 weeks ago. He was given a Cat Scan and going Friday to talk to the doctor to learn more about it... (all he knows is it hasn't spread to anything and just in his throat). We go to different hospitals, btw. However, they also gave him the week worth of antibiotics telling h8im that the lumps would clear up , but wanted to do the CT just in case... (sure enough it was Cancer...)

We had a roommate that lived in one of the rooms in the house that we also stayed in... He has now gotten a lump on his throat (visible seeing on the outside of it) and wants to go to the doctors for testing...

The dog has gotten those fatty tumors on his skin (sense living in this house) and have had several moved.

Please excuse my ignorance and understand I'm quite worried right now... but can cancer be spreading from something in the house.. it's a very old 20's house. Maybe a chemical?

Thanks for any help..

HIGHLY umlikely it is caused by something in the house. (though I would never rule out anything - since three people living under the same roof getting the same cancer would give me pause).

Smoking definitely causes oral cancer... assuming your father is older then I would say it is what has caused it. The same for the room mate - assuming he has OC (he would have to have a scan and a definitive biopsy to determine this).

With regards to you possibly second hand smoke exposure?

I would definitely get a second opinion if the antibiotics don't help.

As for the dog... My dog has gotten a few spindle carcinomas and had them removed. This sometimes happens to dogs as they get older.

I would maybe have your home tested... toxic waste? Built over a dump? I don't know.

But for you - if you are all living together and two out of three smoke then I would say that is likely your cause.

best of luck.

Thanks for your reply... it makes it feel a bit more rational, I figured with the dog, but it was still very weird.

My dad is in his 40's and the roommate is in his 30's. I am 20.

All three of us notice issues with blood in the anal (not really bloody stools) just having bad cramping and a lot of blood coming out. His and the roommate hasn't noticed it in quite a few months, however.. I still experience quite a lot of it, along with vomiting blood (the hospital couldn't figure out why). I still find it very odd.. and now we all got lumps? So it sorta set me a bit paranoid.

I don't drink.. I don't smoke and eat very healthy.
I've noticed the lump slightly shifted my jaw on the right side of my mouth and I can feel a slight swelling / lump under my bottom teeth and it feels I can move my tongue around more on that side due to stretched out skin and it is visibly more swollen on the right side of my face and I can feel the "pee" sized hard lumps that move around.. around 7 of them I've counted in my neck.. I'm not overweight, etc.. so it isn't collection of skin.

They smoke in the house but mainly in there rooms so I don't know how I would be exposed.

I'll know more on my dad's case with the specialists talk to him on Friday though. Hoping it is easily taken care of >.<

A complete physical can't do any harm, and see about the lumps if they don't go away in a few weeks. Good luck.

It could be anything that is causing the problems everyone is experiencing such as diet, environment (paint or radon-usually causes lung cancer), etc. Its unlikely that everyone has developed oral cancer at the same time. A thorough check up could get to the bottom of it. Maybe bring someone in to check the house?

Hope its nothing serious with you and the roommate. Sorry about your fathers diagnosis!

I would agree - based on all your symptoms being somewhat similar... I would thing it is something you are all doing / eating / breathing in. I would definitely have everything checked out and hopefully your dad is okay with the cancer. Treatment can be hard.

Thanks.

I had the lump for the past almost year and hasn't gotten bigger on the side of my neck just oddly swells now and then and is visibly noticeable even on the right side of my face. The doctors are ordering a CT scan and MRI which I'll do on Monday, he didn't go into speculations of what he thought it could be.

The roommate went in also today to his doctor and they said it very well could be a tumor or an infection (the same thing that was told to my dad).

I'll keep this updated, it would be as you guys said very unlikely ~
