It could just be an irritated taste bud - our youngest person diagnosed was 17 - it's rare but not unheard of. Best to have it checked by an ENT if it's not gone in 2-3 weeks. My suggestion - let this be a warning give up the dip and cigarettes now. Take care.

It's only mildly better in that it prevents the combustion products of tobacco from causing you many forms of cancer.

It's worse in that it does nothing to address your nicotine addiction.

You're 15 years old, how about dropping both, you need neither one to have an enjoyable, rewarding life, not to mention having a lot of extra money available to spend on much more worthwhile things.

You said you've been smoking off and on for only a year or so, how about letting the off become permanent. Twenty years from now you will thank me for having done so.

12/13 taste gone, dry mouth,
02/14 hair slowly returning
05/14 taste the same, dry sinuses, irrigation helps.
01/15 food taste about 60% returned, dry sinuses are worse in winter.
12/20 no more sinus problems, taste pretty good
