Thank you so much for your advice and encouragement. You're absolutely right - what I thought was going to be horrible the first time around turned out not to be a big deal, and there's no reason that won't be the case this time. I did find myself living each day on its own and letting tomorrow and next week take care of themselves. With the partial glossectomy, speech and swallowing seemed to come on their own. This time I will need to resolve to practice as you advise. Most of the time now I even forget that I had the neck dissection on the left, and there's no loss of function in my arm. Hopefully that will be the case on the right too.
Thank you again for your support on this journey. I am also looking forward to hearing of Nina and her husband's progress toward a successful completion of treatment.

Left side neck nodes removed 11/7/12 - Begin rads (30 treat.) and Cituximab (11 treat.) 12/26/12 - Rads compl. 1/18/13 - Cituximab compl. 3/13/13 - PET clear 12/19/13 - Positive PET 1/3/14 - Biopsy confirm cancer in tongue and 1 node (stage 4) 1/16/14 - Surgery - full glossectomy and and right neck dissect
