I wanted to add whatever assurances I can to someone that may be facing the same. Everyone is different, but I have experienced very little pain. The neck looks gruesome, but doesn't hurt. The drain was a annoyance. It didn't hurt at all coming out. After 2 days on narcotic painkillers I am now managing fine with Tylenol. Best of luck to you all.
