HPV+ stage 4, laryngoscopy tomorrow to determine primary site (squamous cell Ca lymph node near parotid gland showed on MRI-surgery 2 weeks ago), appt. with Moffitt on Monday. I understand HPV+ is better responsive to radiation so that is good news.

Lady,

Glad you found the OCF forum. Wealth of information here the people here are happy to help.

You'll be in good hands at Moffitt Cancer Center. I go there and am so glad one of my doctor's suggested Moffitt. If it wasn't for him I don't know where I'd be today too much time running around to different doctor's.

I wasn't diagnosed HPV but there are many here who have been they can help you.

Hope all goes well Monday keep us posted.

Take care,
Connie

Wow from NY all the way to Tampa for treatment? Glad you had a good experience there. Just anxious to get started. I understand this waiting is the worst part. Will be glad to get biopsy done tomorrow.

Welcome Lady! The best choice of treatment center would be a top rated cancer center. You are fortunate to live close to one. Several members have traveled all over the country for second opinions at the top centers. When someone has a complicated case it can be the difference between life and death.

Being a caregiver is a difficult job. To me caregivers are angels, carrying the world on their shoulders while wearing a smile. We are here to help support you both. Make sure you take a few minutes every day for yourself so you can avoid becoming overwhelmed. Even if its a walk around the block to clear you troubled mind, it really does make a difference.

Best wishes to your patient with everything.

We are trying to sort through who to start with there since he has already had surgery and dx at Cleveland Clinic. We have appt with Dr. J. McCaffrey so I assume that is the right entry point. Just anxious to get chemo and rad going- don't want any delays.

Lady,

I have Dr. Thomas McCaffrey, Dr. J. McCaffrey is his wife. I don't know anything about her I really do like Thomas McCaffrey. He's been very good to me and others I've seen him treat.

I'm sure Judith McCaffrey is good too.

Keep us posted.

Take care,
Connie

I believe that she is actually his daughter (??) but she is who Bill sees. In our humble opinion, she is very thorough, non-rushed, empathetic, etc. During appointments with her that have followed a PET scan, she has stopped long enough to order them up and take a preliminary look at them to assuage our worries until the official report is available.

You are in good hands,

Deb
