I'll be getting low dose taxol, maybe 80mg weekly, along with Erbitux starting 10/7. Good luck with yours.

I'm curious about the limited response on this thread from Taxol users. Does this mean that it isn't commonly given? I saw on Wiki that it's been around since 1967 but that's as far as I've gotten with my reading.

Taxol is not as commonly used as Cisplatin, Carboplatin, and Erbitux.

Charm,

Sorry to be so slow in responding. I've been out of town and out of internet connection.

Bill had Taxol added to his chemo cocktails every week (see my signature.) His response to treatment really seemed no different than most here. He was usually more energetic the evening of treatments probably due to the steroids and then lethargic the next few days. He did not complain of nausea except right after a tube feeding (that in hind sight was probably put in too fast) but not any chronic nausea. He had the slow progression to no food by mouth on week three but recovered within two weeks of the end of treatment and was eating and feeling better at the beginning of the second week post treatment. He did have hair thinning but not total loss.

Like I say...his experience with side effects seemed in line with others that only had Cis or Carbo.

My thoughts are with you Mr. Charm...
