First, I'm so sorry to hear about your husband..........but I love your attitude with it. I will say a prayer for both of you.
What part of Maine are you from? I grew up in Maine, didn't leave until I was 28 years old. Tiny town called Levant, right outside of Bangor. My sister and her family and my mom still live right outside of Calais, we come home every summer we can get away. There is no place like Downeast Maine.

SCC Left Mandible. Jaw replaced with bone from leg. Neck disection, 37 radiation treatments. Recurrence 8-28-07, stage 2, tongue. One third of tongue removed 10-4-07. 5-23-08 chemo started for tumor behind swallowing passage, Our good friend and much loved OCF member Minnie has been lost to the disease (RIP 10-29-08). We will all miss her greatly.

With Dee by your side you both will do this! My sister is now trying Iressa and Drs. are saying they are receiving positive results. Also, since you live in Maine, there is a Head and Neck Specialist at Mass General - Dr. John Clark. They also have a team on Fridays I believe that will see you and only you and evaluate your situation. The cup is always half full is his style and personality. Best of luck. Joined: Jun 2002 Posts: 194 | Hi, When I read your post I had to shut down and go for a long walk.Dee you and Packer are in all our hearts and prayers.I have a friend that has had Ovarian Cancer, then lymphobia, and they now think she may be developing Lukemia. She goes to John Hopkins to get blood tranfusions every three weeks.It is up in the air what is next maybe bone marrow transplant.This started at 24 and she is now 49. She is a tiny delacate woman at 98 pounds, this is her normal size and it is all iron will.She says if I can stretch this out a few more years I may get to be a Grandmother!Staying strong has got her this far lets all pray it will work for Packer, he sure deserves it!
