While they only give a small portion of the show to any given topic, they are airing this segment on the 30th at 2PM on ABC. [/quote] While it is already the 30th here I would not be able to get the show in Australia, so I am hoping that I can get to hear it later from someone's taping?? Gabriele

Hopefully it will include today's show on ABC at 2pm. So, it may not be necessary to tape it. Hope it works.

Also wish that they had given a shout out to OCF. Oh, well, I guess any publicity is better than nothing. I am glad that they did talk about the dentist's role in screening, too.

However, they rushed through everything so fast, I wondered how the audience could be expected to remember everything or anything. I know that on TV or radio they have to think in sound bites (minimum of sound, maximum of sense) but to be able to take in important information or to learn anything, all of the senses need to be involved, or as many as possible. I wish Jill could have been interviewed or at least Christines picture shown. Having a real person interviewed with care giving experience would have allowed for a much more effective teaching moment and people would be more likely to remember something more than just oral sex. Its unfortunate that OCF was not mentioned.

I also wish that there had been some pictures or some interraction with a real live person who is an oral cancer survivor. I was pretty disappointed in it.

It seemed to me they kept minimizing the cancer risk issue. I do realize that the "C" word frightens people - and as a new show they probably do not want to frighten their viewers. Too bad. It was rushed. Oh well - hopefully someone took note aside from the Choir!!

They interviewed both of us several times and are supposed to be doing a picture in a few weeks for it. I truly hope they get all the medical stuff correct. I would assume they talked to way more than just us, but don't know any details. We didn't get to see the entire article, only our quotes so we could approve. We are trying to spread the word here in Elmira too. Amazing how many people have no idea about HPV, much less HPV and it's relation to OC. Kathy
