Hi there. and welcome... tell us a little about what's going on... have you had your surgery? What are they telling you with regards to radiation and treatment? Hopefully your are recovering well... I noticed your other post saying you'd just had your surgery,,, was it surgery or your biopsy? You definitely get versed in medical terminology when you are diagnosed.

Regardless good luck and welcome... the group is great and full of answers here.. take care.

Welcome to OCF. Glad you have found this forum for info and support. We will help you get thru everything you are facing. Sorry to be a little slow, not sure what pt1 and pn1 mean. Are you being treated at a cancer center? there are some excellent top notch facilities in Texas.

Looking forward to getting to know you better. Best wishes with everything!

Have had surgery. And the results of the 13 lymph nodes taken were 1 positive. I started over a year ago with hitting my tongue dentist thought my two back teeth were possibly causing this because they were collapsing because of a missing tooth next to them. They conducted a biopsy on tissue on the tongue confirmed it was cancer. The next step was first rest and let this large scar heel bit more next week is my next appointment then I will be referred. Lots of questions

If you make a mistake, up to 2 hours after you post something you can edit it. Take a look at the box you wrote your last post, on the bottom right you should see "EDIT" next to the "REPLY" tab. Click on "EDIT" and fix whatever was wrong. Only if you are adding alot of info would you want to write another post. Typos are something that everyone does. We can usually read right thru them so dont stress yourself out.

You neck will be stiff long term... If you have rads it may be permanent - just stretch it (when you've healed) massage helps too... Also when you've healed... smile good luck with the referral - mist drs are forthcoming if asked but frankly people tend not to ask wha the fall out from treatments will be. This is why a little research helps the individual. Good luck!

Hello dswavey, If there is one peice of advise I can give you it's to stay very connected to the people here on the OCF. The lovely Cheryld (hi Cheryl) and I basically went through rads together (I think she was 1 day behind me) and although it was harrowing and scary we got through it with some love, help, and supprot from eachother, our loved ones, and the other survivors here on the OCF. Stay close me friend. And...the doctors, as crude as they may be, can save your life and hopefully leave you with little more than a little dry mouth.
Peace.
Will
