Iv got my 6 weekly check up tomorrow, I had my new obturator and it's like massive! Iv been getting used to it but not been that good at checking it's been rubbing etc anyway I seem to have had a cold since I began wearing it and now I have a bit of a cough and my mouth feels a bit sore . I looked in the hole and noticed a Small white spot and now I'm worried it could be something
Guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow I'm having a tends bad temper day and I know it's is I have the dreaded check up !
Bye for now

Jayne, try to keep yourself busy so your mind stays occupied. It helps to make you not so anxious about your appointment. The white spot could be anything, hopefully its nothing. We all get a bit nervous when it comes check up time. With time you will learn to take these things in stride and not worry so much. I am one of the more calm members about my check ups. Im very strong minded and will distract myself with reading my kindle, watching movies or playing cards. Those little things are enough to make me not think about 'what if' and get upset. The longer you are out from your treatments the easier it will get.

Best wishes for a good check up!

Please try not to worry the sore teeth may actually be from the new orburator as you have said it's large it may be putting pressure on the whole area (braces make your teeth feel sore too for the same reason!) And also if it's been rubbing hat could explain the sore spot. smile good luck! You'll pass with flying colors! smile

Thanks guys! Doc said it all looks fine next check up 8 weeks instead of the usual 4 !!!!! Hooray! No surgery for at least a year so if anything does pop up he can see it and deal with it straight away. Christine I will try your tips for keeping my mind off but I am a worrier and will always find it difficult. If anything this is always a reminder to me to live and love everyday!

Congrats on the good check up! Im so glad your doc reassured you. It must have been a good one for you to advance to every 8 weeks.

We all worry when it comes that time. Its very difficult to change a life long habit. I was a single mom raising my children without anyone's help so I was a planner, I always worried about everything. But I have learned how to cope with it after wasting so much time being upset.

Worry will steal your time from you. It will make you immobile where all you can do is sit around and focus on "what if". That wont change a darn thing. It took me until my 3rd round to overcome my fears and worries. On my low days, I would force myself to go out and do things with my family. It just hit me one day that if I wouldnt get thru it that I had wasted so much of my time. I decided that I was not going to be remembered as one who sat around thinking "what if". I was going to get out there and live life to the best of my abilities.

I hope you will one day be able to move past worrying. It takes lots of practice.
