Tough -? Tough is someone who faced down cancer, struggled through the surgery - twice!!! Went through chemo and radiation and lives with fear, and the c word daily, tough is someone who picks themselves up after all of that and has the courage to go on. it's not about heat, it's not about stamina. It's about stupidity, and ignorance. You're plenty tough - theyre just plenty dumb... smile

HPV leading to oral cancer was once rare but is becoming more common, especially among young people, is true. So much for "safe sex" eh?

Martin doesn't suffer fools gladly and when people tried and pushed him away because of the cancer excuse, he set them straight. Now no one even dares! Just tell them, you are a cancer SURVIVOR, and what they know about cancer, you could write on a postage stamp. You are inside your body, not them so you know what you can do. Don't let them dictate what you should do just coz they are scared of the word cancer.I hope your son enjoyed the camp anyway.

Girlfriend to Martin 49 years old at diagnosis
Diagnosed with SCC unknown primary June 2008.
Cancer found in single node Stage N2A (3 to 6cm).
Tonsilectomy 16th june, Radical modified neck dissection left side 30th june.
30 TX radiotherapy ended 9th October
First comparative study scan came back clear

Hi Angelia!

i know how u feel! I'm goin through the same thing. I was diagnosed in march 2011 for stage 4 oral cancer and I am only 20 yrs old nd i nvr smoked or drank. There is a lot of things i want to do with my life, like traveling and going out to the malls, you know? but I can't, because my father nd friends are very worried abt my health, bt you know wat? To hell with them! Live your life! dnt b controlled by them! The doctor told me i have a high chance of getting a reaccurance, bt you know wat? that is not going to make me stop living my life!

So, LIVE UR LIFE TO THE FULLEST!
